EducationSwitching from a Marine Transportation major at California State Maritime Academy to a degree in the geosciences with a GPA of 3.8
ExperienceDuring my senior year of high school, I took AP Calculus and AP Physics. I received a 4 on my AP Calculus exam and ended the year with an A in AP Physics. Also, I tutored someone in Algebra 2 throughout the year. For my senior project, I organized a math club for struggling 3rd grade students. As a college freshman, I passed both calculus 2 and calculus 3 with an A. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about differential equations and linear algebra, which I earned an A in as well. At the moment, I am working towards a degree in the field of the geosciences.
I enjoy watching improvement and helping struggling students. In addition, I'm extremely patient and always willing to answer questions. My job is to help students become more independent through their classes than paying money for tutoring services.
HobbiesAn interesting fact about me?... I have enjoyed working with students who deal with learning disabilities.
Three words that would describe me are active, understanding and dedicated. In my free time, I like to play tennis and ride my bike, especially with friends and family. In the future, I hope to work on a research vessel, preferably owned by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. My career plans change a lot but I am always able to find the motivation to keep me on my path.
